Mantel Construction - Done

My Dad came over this evening with my Mom, brother and nephew. My Dad helped me finish off the mantel and attach the lower shelf, while everyone was being entertained by watching my nephew play the new Transformers xbox game.
We started with drilling 2 holes in the wall and shelf by using the block jig. Then we screwed the bolts into the wall and sawed off the heads and had taken turns pounding in our respective sides of the shelf. It looks so awesome now that it's up and done. I just thought.... yep... check one more off the list.
Everyone agreed that with the mantel up, that corner looks "finished" now. It really made the difference of the look of that corner.
