Combined lots?

So... get this.... found out that, yet again, we are having issues with town hall. Apparently, they have no record of the 2 lots being combined into one lot. Way back when, when we were in motions to buy the land, we were told to combine the 2 lots, or else the town won't let you build across both of them. So, when we closed, we combined the Titles, so that we could it.
We're just now finding out that the town has no record of it. All we have to do is give them copies and I have to sign some paperwork, but it's still a bit of an irritant that the town hadn't picked up on it till now..... esp since we closed way back in December.
